The final lineup of speakers has been confirmed for BAMA's Regulatory Day, on 25th June at Make UK, Tothill Street, London, SW1H 9NQ. 

In the morning, we will be joined by:

  • Susan Bide – from the Department of Business and Trade, Office of Product Safety and Standards, who will discuss the Product Regulation and Metrology Bill, how OPSS will use the powers given to it by this Bill is enacted to update regulations within their remit, including the Aerosol Dispenser Regulations, and how these might be used to develop new regulations in the future.
  • Alice Brown - from Defra and Pack UK, will talk to attendees about the latest developments on Packaging Extended Producer Responsibility and the Recycling Assessment Methodology (or RAM)
  • Emma Hope – from Hertfordshire Trading Standards will present on the work of Trading Standards, the benefits of a Primary Authority Partnership, green claims, and how the organisation can help companies work more closely together without falling foul of competition law rules.

As well as presenting to you on these important regulatory and legislative topics, they will be available to answer questions you might have. In addition to these external speakers, Patrick Heskins will discuss the newly revised voluntary Inhalation Caution Statement, which has been discussed within the Association membership for some time now.

After lunch, as well as the opportunity to further discuss EPR, we will hold a Workshop to apply the Recycling Assessment Methodology to a range of selected aerosol dispenser in order to understand how it applies to aerosol dispensers and help create specific guidance for BAMA Members.
